Jay Lauf is the publisher of Wired magazine, where he oversees the magazine and Wired brand extensions such as Wired NextFest, the Wired Store and the Wired Home. In 2007, under Lauf’s stewardship, Wired was named to Adweek’s Hot List.

Lauf has been part of the management team that has led Wired to the premier position in its category after the dotcom crash in 2001. He has been instrumental in the success of the acclaimed Wired NextFest, a mini-World’s Fair that has been staged annually around the country, as well as the Wired Store, an annual holiday shopping destination for tech enthusiasts, and the Wired Home, which serves as an example of how people can effectively balance green living with high technology and high design.

Before joining Wired, Lauf was an ad director on the U.S. launch of T3: Tomorrow's Technology Today. Prior to that he was national ad director for Customer Interaction Solutions, a technology trade magazine, and publisher of The Merchandiser Group, a group of trade magazines, websites and trade shows for the independent retailers' industry.
